white ball gowns

My version of Cinderella.
Slavery is abolished but prejudice is still rampant against blacks in 1700's Britain.
A rich white family with 2 daughters employ a young black servant girl who they cruelly called Cinderella, because her skin was as black as cinders. (Ash) However despite the cruelty, she still remained kind. One day a passing carriage's wheel came lose and Cinderella helped to find the wheel of the carriage and help the man repair his carriage in the pooring rain and mud. Another day she found an old confused lost white man and helped him find his way back to his home that she shares with his son the shoemaker. Then there was an announcement of a ball where the Prince was looking for a bride and every single woman was invited to attend. Upon the news she saw the tailor woman rushed with work and offered to help. The day of the ball came but she had no dress or shoes to wear to go to the ball in. After the family disappear to go the tailor woman turns up with her finest dress to thank her for helping her with her work. The shoemaker also turns up with his finest shoes to thank her for helping his dad. The carriage man also turns up with his finest carriage to thank her for helping him in the rain and mud. They all also agree to be her escorts and footman for the evening. After arriving at the ball, the ball was stunned to see a black woman enter, dressed in a fine gown and accompanied by 3 kind white people. The Prince dances with her and the family she worked for did not recognise her from the distance at the back fo the vast crowd. When she notices the family make their way home, she rushes to get there and get changed before her family find out. In her haste she loses her shoe but keeps the other one. The Prince announces that the black woman with the other shoe will be his bride, but hides what the shoe looks like. So he goes around the kingdom searching for a black girl who can present the other shoe. Many try but the shoe is not a match to the one he has. Upon going to the last house, Cinderella has the shoe hidden but the family she works for finds it and destroys it. When the prince turns up he recognises her and she describes what the exact shoe looks like that he has hidden in the box. Also the shoe is her size. Cinderella marries the prince and her people are treated with more freedom and equality throughout the Kingdom. white ball gowns
